Built by People Who Actually Use SEO Tools
We started Wulandro in 2018 because we were tired of SEO software that promised everything and delivered confusion. After years of working with clients who struggled with overcomplicated platforms, we decided to build something different.
How We Got Here
Back in 2017, I was consulting for a small e-commerce business in Birmingham. They'd spent thousands on an enterprise SEO platform that required three training sessions just to generate a basic report. The owner told me, "I just want to know what's actually wrong with my website."
That conversation stuck with me. Most SEO tools were designed for agencies managing hundreds of clients, not for the business owner who needed clear answers without a manual.
So we started sketching out what a straightforward SEO tool might look like. Something that would tell you what mattered without burying you in metrics. By early 2018, we had a prototype. It wasn't fancy, but it worked.
The first version could only check basic technical issues and track rankings. But people actually used it. They understood it. And that felt like progress.
What Matters to Us
These aren't aspirational values we put on a wall. They're the things we actually argue about in meetings.
Clear Over Clever
We've turned down feature requests that would make the interface more "powerful" but less clear. If your mum couldn't figure it out, we probably won't build it.
Honest Data
Our keyword difficulty scores aren't inflated to make you feel better. If something's hard to rank for, we'll tell you. Sugar-coating data helps nobody.
Real Support
When you email support, you get someone who actually works on the product. No scripts, no offshore teams who've never seen the software. Just actual help.
Small Business Focus
We're not chasing enterprise contracts. Our tools are designed for businesses that need results without needing a dedicated SEO team.
No Dark Patterns
You can export your data anytime. Cancel whenever you want. We don't hide the cancel button or make you call someone. That stuff's insulting.
Keep Learning
Search algorithms change constantly. We test new patterns every month and update our recommendations when we find something that actually works differently now.
Who's Building This
We're a small team based in Leicester. Most of us came from either agency work or in-house SEO roles. We know what it's like to explain technical issues to people who just want their website to show up in search results.
Rupert Ashford
Technical Director
Rupert spent six years working on search quality at a mid-sized tech company before joining us in 2019. He's the one who figures out why Google's doing something weird and how we should adjust our tools.
He's also responsible for keeping our crawler infrastructure running, which sounds boring until it breaks at 3am. He's particularly obsessed with understanding search intent patterns and gets genuinely excited about algorithm updates.
Outside work, he collects vintage computers and has strong opinions about proper tea brewing methods.
